John O'Sullivan joined Detcon in 2008 as Territory Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to joining the company, John was the General Manager for a Detcon distributor in Saudi Arabia that provided fixed gas detection products and energy management systems. During that time, he began aggressively launching Detcon products into the Middle East market. John says early in his career he worked as an analytical instruments service engineer, which enabled him to easily transition to gas detection distribution and eventually sales. John says his experience, coupled with having lived in Saudi Arabia for several years, puts him at an advantage in understanding the market's gas detection needs and application issues.
Originally from North London, John now resides in Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire. He regularly travels throughout the Middle East, Africa, and Europe providing Detcon product training, visting customers, and assisting with their application needs. While at Detcon, John has worked on numerous projects. Among his most coveted ventures include the first wireless system to be used by a national oil company in the Middle East, and several on and offshore applications including a plant-wide installation in a downstream petrochemical plant.
John has a Higher National Certificate in Electrical & Electronics, and is certified in sales, gas detection applications, and maintenance training on all products that Detcon manufactures and supplies.
